About Us

The Society of Asian Scientist and Engineers (SASE) is one of several organizations within the Minority Engineering Program (MEP) family. The Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) was found in November 2007 to help Asian heritage scientific and engineering professionals achieve their full potential. Formerly The Professional Asian Society of Engineers and Scientist (PASES) at the Colorado School of Mines, our goal was also to reach out to the community about the Asian heritage, but our reach could not farther out than the Colorado region. When PASES found out about SASE, we decided to integrate from PASES to SASE to join the awareness of Asian heritage to reach out and interact in a bigger level. In addition to professional development, SASE also encourages members to contribute to the enhancement of the communities in which they live. SASE's mission is to prepare Asian heritage scientists and engineers for success in the global business world, celebrate diversity on campuses and in the workplace, and to provide opportunities for members to make contributions to their local communities. SASE encourages members to share their unique cultural backgrounds and embrace diversity.

We also offer a community for professional and academic development through workshops (focusing on everything from succeeding at Mines to writing a resume), study sessions, and archives of old tests to help you study! Lastly, SASE strives to reach beyond the CSM campus both through service and teamwork. We are working to expand SASE into other universities and professional groups in industry. By teaming up with other university programs and professionals in industry, we will strengthen our commitment to diversity and further impact our community with a more unified front.
