The Society for Women in Mathematics (SWiM) is an organization focused on creating a community for women in mathematics at the Colorado School of Mines. The organization holds monthly meetings where members share food and conversation, listen to a faculty member or alumna tell her mathematical story, and hold a discussion over the presentation or other relevant topics.

Upcoming Events

September 23, 2014 - CSM Alumna Katie Hayden will be sharing her experience as an Implementation Consultant with FAST Enterprises. This will be a regular meeting, so the event will take place at the  regular meeting time and location.

Past Events

September 9, 2014 - SWiM advisors Dr. Debra Carney and Dr. Rebecca Swanson will lead a workshop (including discussion and activities) on the Imposter Syndrome for SWiM members. Imposter Syndrome is the feeling that, despite your achievements you perceive yourself as a fraud. Studies have found that 70% of people have suffered from the Imposter Syndrome at one time in their life. Dessert (not dinner) will be served. RSVP's are welcomed, but not necessary for the event. You can RSVP on OrgSync.
