Bryan McDowell: President
My name is Bryan McDowell. I am a graduate student at Colorado School of Mines currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, as well as a Ph.D. in Geology. My research focuses on high-field nuclear magnetic resonance in the Eagle Ford Shale and basin- to reservoir-scale fluvial stratigraphy in western Colorado, respectively. I received my Bachelor’s in Engineering Geology from Texas A&M University in 2010.

Hey guys, my name is Anssar, an undergraduate senior pursuing a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering. I was born and raised in Tangier, Morocco, located approximately 10 miles away from Spain.I love learning petroleum engineering, and I am thrilled to be part of such an exciting & elite group of individuals that will soon fuel the world. My passion for geology, energy, economics, project management, travel and of course, engineering was a clear indicator that this is right discipline for me. I joined SPE to immerse myself amongst other passionate, motivated and intelligent students to make a difference. From learning about new technologies at our lunch & learns, to attempting to break a freshman’s record in the drill bit toss challenge at the Annual Oil-Field Olympics, this vibrant organization has a lot to offer. And I love being part of it. As VP of Communication, I look forward to getting to know you personally and do everything I can to help you reap the benefits of SPE. My name is Jessica Iriarte. I’m a grad student at Mines pursuing a MS in Petroleum Engineering. My research is focused on evaluating proppant-shale-fluid interactions by conducting triaxial geomechanical tests on Niobrara core plugs. Before joining Mines, I worked in well stimulation and sand control completions. I am also the Vice President of the American Rock Mechanics Association (ARMA).

My name is Ayush Rastogi and I am a PhD Candidate in Petroleum Engineering Department at Colorado School of Mines. My research is based on multiphase fluid modeling, flow characterization and gas well deliquification. I am originally from India and came to Houston, TX in 2012 where I did my Masters in Petroleum Engineering. I worked as an Engineering Consultant on Production Forecasting and Rate Transient Analysis for a year before joining Mines in Fall 2015. I have been involved with SPE for 7+ years and have held all major leadership roles in various SPE student chapters. I was elected as a Conference Director in Spring 2016, and I am looking forward to contribute towards the growth of Mines SPE Student Chapter by bringing in some experience and sharing the knowledge. Outside work, I enjoy reading about cognitive and behavioral psychology, hiking, camping and listening classical music.

My name is Sidney Tennant and I am a junior in petroleum engineering from Houston, Texas. I have been a member of SPE since fall 2015 and am also a member of Pi Beta Phi. Hi! My name is Kamilia and I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering. I am originally from Indonesia. Bakersfield, CA is my second home, and now I am glad to have Golden, CO to be my home for the next two years. Prior to graduate school, I also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering at Mines. In addition to SPE, I am also a member of Society of Women Engineers, Pi Epsilon Tau Petroleum Engineering Honor Society, and the Colorado School of Mines Orchestra. I had an amazing time these past few summers, working with Chevron Trinidad and as a Production Engineering intern with BP Indonesia. In my free time, I love playing the piano, violin, badminton, collecting postcards, and trying on different types of foods. I am very excited and look forward for this upcoming new year. Go SPE!
Alexandra Susich: Joint Session Director
Hi my name is Alex Susich, I'm a Junior and this is my first year being the joint session director for SPE. Outside of school I am a center midfielder for the Mines Women's soccer team. This past summer I interned for Apache Corp in their drilling department and spent lots of time out in Pecos, Texas working on Mechanical Specific Energy projects.
Joseph Brady: Website Director
Hello, my name is Joseph Brady. I am currently a sophomore at CSM and this is my first year as Website Director. Oil and gas is such a special industry because it incorporates so many interesting things, from geopolitics and geology, to the advanced technology used, there are so many factors which must be weighed making it the ultimate puzzle. I am a member of the Petrobowl team here at Mines. I enjoy the outdoors, traveling and reading. I am looking forward to interning for EOG Resources this summer.
